  • I just wanted to drop a line to thank you for your marvelous web site. I can do without all the gooey Leonardo stuff (hey, I'm a guy!), but I really like all the info and enthusiasm put into the site and it's the first Titanic site I check out when looking for updates.
This past week I have been really bummed out and depressed to because the October 25th, Celine Dion concert here in Phoenix was sold out. I wasn't even aware that she was coming out here and when I did find out.........it was too late the concert was sold out, and even if it wasn't, I wouldn't have had the money to buy tickets (spent too much on Titanic books and seeing the Movie over the summer!).
This morning (Friday Oct 23rd), as I was waking up, the radio announced that they would give two tickets to Sunday's Celine Dion concert to the first person calling in with the correct answer to the question: "What day did the Titanic sink on?" I was only half awake, but I picked up the phone, dialed the number, got a busy signal, hit re-dial, the phone rang....I got through, and the rest is history......I have two tickets to the Big Concert Tour of the Year! This is the first time in many years that I've called into a radio station contest and the first time, ever, that I have won!
I hope that Celine's concert here is as good as the ones that R.J. (Cleveland) and Sarah went to. I will let you know how it went. I very excited about winning these tickets and wanted to share the new with my friends at TITANIC, Pictures, News and Links. ---Scott L
  • I just want to say that a few day's ago I went to see the TITANIC exibit at Paramount's Carowinds. It was the CLOSEST thing to the movie. I thought that the necklace was the best part. The sitting room set was wonderful. The other thing was the gift shops. All over the park. I bought a shot glass(I collect them). If you have a chance to go, GO! Carowinds is the last stop and it ends next month. ---Rosella_85@Yahoo.Com
  • I agree that NOTHING has been cut out of the movie----there was never a part about the father and his sons or nothing about what that Lewis person said to Rose----i don't know what movie theatre they went to but they must be dreaming! Also where can i find a page with the script on it i really need it for a project i am doing comparing the Scarlet Letter and Titanic??? Thanx a bunch! ---Kath

  • Hey there! Just writing to say that I don't think a minute was cut from the movie in the video. I saw the movie 10 times in the theatre and basically knew it by heart and did not notice anything different in the video version(I have both widescreen and normal). Hey also did everyone hear that Kate and her boyfriend Jim got engaged? Cool huh? I'm so happy for her! ---Cristina
  • Kate Winslet has just announced that she's getting married next year. ---Sarah

  • There is one scene that I saw one time at the movies but didn't see it the next time, and it's not in the video. It is a scene where a French father is putting his two sons into a life boat (you know the story of the father who kidnapped his two sons from his ex-wife and was taking them to America - he didn't survive the sinking and the last thing he said to his son was 'tell your mother I still love her'). I am also sure that at some time Lewis says to old Rose 'You were going to kill yourself by jumping off the Titanic!? All you had to do was wait a few days!". Did I imagine these scenes? ---Sarah

  • Your site, Titanic Pictures, News and Links is one of my favorites, because it keeps me informed. I never would have known that Galoob had marketed a Rose DeWitt Bukator doll until I had gone to a store, and now thanks to the picture of it on the site, I know what to look for next time I go to the store. Thanks again, and keep up the good work! ---Jill

I am embarassed to put these comments up! I didn't find anything missing from the movie...just because you might have watched the regular version (not the widescreen)..doesn't mean that stuff was cut out!
Also, what do you people think was cut out?

  • Does anyone else think that there has been stuff cut out of the Titanic video? I think there is about five minutes missing. ---Sarah
  • How can I find out ..If it's goiing to be a Uncut Version of Titanic? Because it was'nt like the Movie ( *(THEATER)....I just want to know is there going to be one????? Please let me know ---Alvin B

Anyway they played the medley that they sang at the MTV Music awards---but they included My Heart Will Go On!!! It was soo cool---the whole crowd was singing along! ---kath I can't believe that on the calender of events you didn't include Kate Winslet! Today (10-5) if you didn't already know is her 23 b-day!! I must say I'm disapointed! ---triumph@redrose.net

  • Does anyone know what the special limited edition boxed set of Titanic has in it? It costs an extra $20 here in Australia so it better be good. ---Sarah
  • Well, let me tell you I went to the Celine Dion concert on the 18th at Gund Arena in Cleveland Ohio. It was so amazing!! It started out with Titanic music and all these lights. But, at the end, she didn't sing My Heart Will Go On!!! She just said good night Cleveland, and left the stage!! Well, I told my parents I wasn't getting up until she got back on that stage and sang that song! All of a sudden the whole place went black and the stage turned into an ocean (they had this great stage that they projected laser images on that looked almost real) and then on the big screens they showed all these scenes from Titanic. I never screamed so much at one time. I thought the guy next to me was gonna get me arrested or something. Then she came on the stage in this beautiful red gown and the stage turned into the bow of the ship. It was so beautiful. And thats how she really closed the show. I really reccomend everyone to go see it. Her music is spectacular.
On a different Titanic note, I was watching this interview on MTV with Carson Daly and Marilyn Manson and they were talking about his new video "The Dope Show". Guess who's in that video! Billy Zane! First time I saw the video I thought it was him but I didn't think so, that interview confirmed it. I'm not a real fan of Manson but I do love Billy Zane so just check it out because he looks like a real freak in it! ---RJDancin@aol.com
  • Have you seen any pictures of the white dress Rose wore in the last scene of the movie when she was walking up the stair case to meet Jack. I want to make this dress for my wedding one day. ---Lindam

  • Well, I went to the Celine Dion concert yesterday, and it was so awesome! Her songs are terrific on cds but in person, they're 10,000 times better! When Celine sang MHWGO, she wore a dress almost like Rose's red one, and the stage was put together to look like a ship. And, before she sang it, a whole bunch of movie clips came on and the crowd went wild. I couldn't believ how nice she was! When people went up to the stage to get her autograph, she would stop after every song to sign each and every one of them. Then she talked about how nice and sweet Leo was to her when they met. So if Celine's coming to your town, I'd highly advise you to get tickets. This concert is great, and probably the best you'd ever go to! ---Katie
  • Hey, I love all the pic's you have. I was just wondering if you had or know anybody that has the pic where at the end, Jack is meeting Rose in the white dress. It's the part at the very end. I really love that pic, if you don't know anybody who has it, then that's ok. Thanks!! --- Sarah

  • I got a FAO Swartz catalogue the other day, and to my amazement, they have "Rose" dolls. Although you can only get these particular ones thru FAO, I have found out that in October that Galloob will release their own version of the "Rose" doll. THe FAO versioin is $375 for either Rose in her Boarding outfit, or Rose in her Dinner with Jack outfit, or $1299 for a trunk that contains Rose in her boarding outfit, Rose's dress from her dinner with Jack, AND an "extra" outfit that is her nightgown! If you get the trunk you will also get the heart of the ocean, her butterfly hair pick and a bunch more. The Galloob dolls will be about $80 and each doll will have a different outfit. I have not seen the gallob dolls, but the FAO ones are quite ugly. The outfits on the other hand are amazing--perfect detail. But, Rose looks really MAD and nothing like Kate. ---Corey
  • I thought I would inform you that my aunt that lives in California saw Leo at the grocery store. She wasn't positive it was him, but pretty sure. He was buying 2% mikl and Orieo's. --- Lindsey

  • I live in Washington, Pa. and I went to the 8th Annual Pittsburgh Irish Festival today. At the festival, which was Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, Gaelic Storm played each day. We watched their performance, which was an hour, and it was great. They made some funny comments about Pittsburgh, some about there being so many bridges. It was right along the river so when the Gateway Clipper came past ,Patrick Murphy, the lead singer, yelled from the stage, "Watch out for the iceberg!" It was a lot of fun. They did an encore song and sold their T-shirts and CD's, even some Titanic stuff. After their performance, they gave autographs. The line was long, and the sun was hot, but it was worth it. I got my picture taken with them, and they all signed my CD. ---Sarah

  • Max Factor just came out with this collection o makeup called the Tina Earshaw collection. It is basically based on the Titanic makeup and has lots of nice shades with names like rebellious, exhilirated, heartbroken, etc. And it is really cheap too only 6.95. The lipstick is really nice. So if you are a fan of Titanic you have to get this makeup cuz wearing makes you feel like Rose. ---Julie

  • Here is my Titanic Video experience!
I went to Best Buy, even though I knew all about Blockbusters sale. I even had 5$ down at Blockbuster, but when I found out that Best Buy was giving away Calendars with the movie, I figured that I would be saving myself some moneysince I would be buying the calendar anyway. So, I got all geared up to head off to Best Buy at 12. I ended up talking to my fiance a little longer than I wanted though, so I ended up heading over there at 12:30 AM. Guess what? At our Best Buy, the lines were forming at 9:30 that evening. When they opened, there were over 300 people waiting for Titanic. I got there just as everyone was leaving. It took me a total of 2 minutes to buy the movie, and pick up my calendar along with my purchase. On my way out the door, I was interviewd by the local news team, they called me the "smartest girl on the block." All I cared about was watching the movie. So I went on home. When I passed Hollywood Video on the way home, there was STILL a line out the door! I got home and watched Titanic until about 4 and went to bed. I bought the widescreen version. It is good, but I am considering buying the formatted version. I rented it, and I like it just as well as the letterbox format. There really isn't any big differences that I could see.
I just bought the pattern for the dresses also. Although I don't have any Halloween parties to go to, I still think it would be fun to try and attempt to make the dresses. There was a sale on the patterns at the local fabric store (JoAnn Fabrics) and I ended up getting it for 4$ marked down from 11$. The patterns come in a set of two, by Simplicity, and the patterns are for the "suicide" dress, and for the pink dress she wears at the end. ---Corey

  • For the film's video release here in Las Vegas, a local radio station held a Titanic Launch Party at a local Blockbuster where you could dunk the DJ in water and they gave away free snowcones ( which is kinda sad I think ), but since I had to get up really early the next day for school, I couldn't go. However I did make it down to the nearest Blockbuster at 12:01 to pick up the ship in all it's glory, but along with the print, I got a giftcard with Leo and Kate on it and a "Boarding Pass", that was given out to the first 100 buyers and had the # to call to win the cruise on the back. To my surprise, there was mostly guys in the line ( which only had about 15-20 people in it ) and a lot of people in pajamas, including me. ---Titanic4Evr
  • I got my copy of Titanic on Tuesday along with almost everyone else. Luckily we pre-ordered our copy! The guy at the movie store said that apparently there were line ups all over town of people trying to buy and rent the movie! Titanic fever is returning! I also wanted to let everyone know that Max Factor has released a line of Titanic Makeup designed by the woman that actually was a one of the main make-up artists for the movie. Look for it in your local drugstores ect.! I bet it'll be really expensive like most Max Factor cosmetics! ---Steph

  • I picked up my copy of "Titanic" after midnight last night. It was worth the wait. I watched most of it until about three am. I had to finish it this morning. I took a well-timed day off work. I thought the video transfer was awesome. I have a large screen tv (46 inch) and surround sound, and the impact was much like seeing it in the theatre. And the sharpness of the picture due to THX was great as well. Even the packaging is nice. It's nice to see the film in the media a lot again. I also got a free Titanic print of Rose and Jack just by going into Blockbuster today at the right time. Also, I picked up a film cell of the movie with a great picture which I found at Best Buy. Don't worry: Titanic mania will be with us for quite awhile. On Entertainment Tonight it even showed Asst. Producer Jon Landau picking up a copy to rent! He said he was there to support the video release. And who knows what lies ahead? Maybe a director's cut? We can only hope. Enjoy, fellow Titanic Buddies. ---Ed C.
  • Okay I went to Blockbuster and waited on line for fifteen minutes and I got there early. They were 5 late and my mother, father, and I were on each line. And I got it! I couldn't sleep last night and I just finished watching it! Just thought you should know! ---Faye
  • I got my Titanic on video last night at Blockbuster. It was pretty crowded after I got there. The lines were building up! I can't believe I got the movie. The deal with the winning a cruise or Titanic on Tour is weird because you were supposed to call when you got home from the store, but when ever I have tried to call, there is no busy signal or anything, just clicks, and then it says "you have reached a number that has been disconnected" so I don't quite understand what the deal is with that. But I am very glad I got my video :`) ---Alyssa A
